An unnamed teacher at South San High School in San Antonio has been placed on administrative leave after allegedly sending nude images of himself to a student at another school.

According to messages obtained by Fox 29-TV, the student, in response, may have tried to extort money from the teacher.

South San officials sent a letter to parents explaining the situation and that the incident had been reported to police, Fox 29 San Antonio reported.

“The district has taken swift action and is working closely with [the San Antonio Police Department],” wrote Principal Lee Hernandez. “The teacher in question has been placed on administrative leave and is no longer on campus.”

Zyneida Angulo, a senior at South San, told the TV station that the “sexting” messages and photos were widely circulated among students.

“Teachers should be smart enough, knowing that they have a career and they should never do that,” Angulo said. “If it shows his face and it shows his whole body then like it has to be him, there’s no way he can’t deny it.”

Messages obtained by Fox 29 suggest that the student tried to extort money from the teacher after the student received the photos.

You have a car right, you should come bring me $200 before I email the South San School Board and take these pics to the police,” reads one message from the student, the TV station reported.
